Kunga Dayangs, a spirited 6-year-old, hails from Loma, a remote Himalayan village, where her story of resilience and determination is unfolding like a rare, blooming flower amidst the challenging terrain. Dayangs has faced hardships that no child should endure. She is an orphan, having never laid eyes on either of her parents. Her mother, a victim of abuse from an alcoholic husband, suffered in silence in the harsh shadows of her in-laws' cruelty. Kunga's journey is intertwined with the echoes of her mother's pain, and yet, she carries within her the spark of hope that refuses to be extinguished.

Despite the adversities, Dayangs stands as a beacon of light, illuminating the potential that lies within her. She possesses an innate talent and brilliance that shines through in her academic endeavors. She is the top of her class. Her eyes sparkle with curiosity, and she engages with the world around her in a way that is both heartwarming and inspiring.

Dayangs has an elder sister, Padma, who, like a protective guardian, has walked the difficult path alongside her. The two sisters share a bond forged in the crucible of adversity, promising each other a brighter tomorrow. For the past four years, Dayangs has found solace and support at Home of the Snow Lions, a residential facility provided by Amrita-Seattle for at-risk girls.
